Fire Works Extravaganza - May 17th 6:00 pm at Fairfield Park

Woo Hoo!!! It's that time for the 6th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza at Fairfield!!!
Date: May 17, 6:00 pm (Rain date Monday)
Location: Fairfield Park (Islington Rd & Lothian Area)
For those of you who haven't attended in the past, this event has been variously described as:
(1) possibly the best Annual Firework Extravaganza east of Islington and west of Lothian;
(2) a great chance to meet neighbours and friends, and make some new friends; and
(3) four hours of my life that I will NEVER get back.
In any event, here's how the Annual Firework Extravaganza plays out:
Families arrive at Fairfield about 6:00 pm or so, most inadequately dressed for what typically turns out to be the coldest evening in May. Each family brings some blankets, chairs, maybe some sports equipment, and a drink or nut free snack for the pot luck.
So here are a few tips to make the night more enjoyable:
(1) Dress warm! It has been cold each and every time we've held this in the past;
(2) Bring lots of food, the pizza is an urban legend; and
(3) Be prepared to have fun!
So remember: Sunday May 17, 2009, 6:00 pm, fireworks at 8:00-8:30.
We're asking each family to bring $15.00 for the fireworks. I'll buy them the morning of. If it's raining on the Sunday, we'll do it on Monday. If it's still raining on Monday, we'll do it on Labour Day. Please RSVP soon so we can get a rough idea of how many people will show up. Email : probir@grinningdog.com

Thanks Leigh! I had no idea there were annual fireworks there. I think we'll actually be around this year (usually we go to Ottawa, but we're going to Montreal next weekend). That's a 2 minute walk from us! I'll let our friends who live across the park (on Monkton) know about it as well.

Wow, that sounds like a great event. Count me in for sure, and I will let all my friends know.
Wow, that does sound good, I can't wait
Where exactly does this happen? Between the (ex-)school and the houses on Islington or in the main part of the park, visible from Lothian Ave (where we live).
This article is great, I'm really very impressed with the author!
